Within the An edible mission. project, alongside the functional design approach, we are also working on a more artistic, expressive and metaphorical field called Fusion of Materials_. We create objects and spatial compositions made of overlapping, folded, sewn, or glued sheets of Mycelium, combined with translucent or sometimes tinted Algae films. These films act as windows, revealing layers and spaces, much like the protective structure of a puparium, where Mycelium forms the frame and Algae provides transparency, allowing light to enter and inviting deeper understanding.
These objects, made entirely of organic, pure materials, represent the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature connected to the Cradle to Cradle philosophy. The small wooden support symbolizes the natural base built by humans – a protection we must foster to ensure that this fusion (Fusion of Materials, Fusion of Human and Nature) continues to evolve and last in symbiosis for a long time.
