Our new project, An edible mission. is a collaboration of two separate earlier developments and their integration to the concept of Health & Well-being. Andrea Brittnek's doctoral research and experimental results of the Tactile whiteness where besides artistic reliefs, individual packagings were also on display. The aesthetics of the surface, the natural shades of the materials and the consumability of the Mycelium of the physiologically significant Fungal species could open up a new perspective in packaging culture, which, in addition to global circular sustainability, could also present a solution to public health concerns. Kata Lagzi's previous award-winning project focused on experiments with bioplastics, making Algae a perfect choice for the fusion of this two natural materials.
In our development, we combine the Algae foil with the Mycelium packaging to create aesthetical and functional objects. As researchers, developers and designers, we aim to invent products that can offer a new perspective for the Thriving Planet and humanity in the future. We also focus on reducing packaging waste.
Our passion for visual communication, sustainability, and functional design merges with unique artistic identities. Through lectures, workshops, and exhibitions we not only share our vision but also pass on practical experience, inspiring audiences and embedding these methods in international education.
