The An edible mission. project is a collaboration of two separate earlier developments and their integration to the concept of Health & Well-being. The use of Mycelium sheets and Algae films creates a new perspective, blending stability with flexibility and sustainability with nourishment. Mycelium and Agar foil are the questions, the hypothesis and the solutions. Fungi and Algae are with us all the time, weaving their way around the universe, filling the void, feeding the continuity necessary for existence. They give back to Mother Nature what they temporarily borrow. In this project, the fusion of this two materials creates objects, packagings and reliefs that symbolize protection, transparency, and interconnection. The forms and surfaces of Mycelium and bio-foil represent this embrace – symbolizing the relationships between Fungi and Algae, between people, and between humans and nature.
